Job Description Summary

This EMEA Regional Commodity Leader presents a unique opportunity to lead the Buying Process of Welded Structures in EMEA Region for GE Vernova Hydro Power. You will negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies, achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction, while getting in-depth understanding of key business drivers.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Define the regional sourcing strategy for the related commodities

  • Provide inputs and needs from her/his Region(s)

  • Source best suppliers and develop the suppliers' panels in the Region with the support of Quality insurance

  • Negotiate T&C/Price lists (Long Term Frame Agreement /open Purchase Orders and implement Supplier Review Management with these suppliers

  • Drive and lead stakeholders in his/her region for supplier improvement and development

  • Perform technical reviews with suppliers prior to supplier award decision

  • Prepare forecast & backlog for her/his commodity

  • Support development of best assumptions in tendering and product activities:

  • Price lists, costing tools, TBOMs update, Vendor list, issuance of specific RFQ if necessary

  • Supports risk & opportunities reviews

  • Be the interface with Global Engineering ,GIT, HPM for standardization, product qualification

  • Lead purchasing activities for major POs in coordination with Project Requirements (Place RFQ, clarify specific project requirements, negotiate PO, award business, ensure hand-over with Project). Ensure load management

  • Lead discussions with suppliers during execution in case of claims, PO changes in coordination with the Project

  • Define & deploy regional commodity strategy

  • Execute project as per Commodity Strategy

  • The Commodity Leader is dedicated to projects, supporting tendering and global functions when requested)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Supply Chain Management)

  • Senior-level experience inSourcing & Buying activities for Manufacturing industry / Energy industry / Construction industry

  • Experience with Welded Structures

  • Fluent English language knowledge

  • Strong technical and commercial background

  • Aptitude to work in a global environment and matrix organization

  • Solid communication & influencing skills

  • Proven experience in supplier selection & development

  • Understanding products and using technical knowledge & skills

  • Contract Management & Legal Awareness

  • Total cost management and solid transactional skills

Desired Characteristics
