Job Description Summary

The ONW EHS Governance Manager is responsible for assisting in efforts to maintain Compliance, reduce risk and deliver EHS excellence through implementation of a robust and consistent governance and audit program. The role reports to the ONW EHS Manager.

This role will be responsible for setting the expectations for governance, audit, risk analysis and compliance, driving standardization of the governance program across Onshore and partnering cross functionally to drive sustainable improvement.

Finally, this role will also provide input to and support the wider EHS team as we work to build one successful EHS team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the Governance program across International, coordinating cross-functionally to drive consistent application and implementation across the business.

  • Lead efforts to make regulatory determinations for emergent issues and remain current and/or develop necessary understanding of EHS regulations and GE EHS programs specific to assigned priorities and/or job scope.

  • Develop and drive strategy to proactively maintain GE and regulatory compliance and/or industry standard across International and be able to develop countermeasures where deviation is identified.

  • Partner with other EHS resources to set the standard for auditor qualification and training expectations and coach team members accordingly.

  • Provide EHS leadership for the International Governance program and drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness of the compliance assurance program through auditing, data validation and support “ Session E” reviews.

  • Analysis of findings, trends, and metrics for statistical trends, and assist in development of action plans to drive program improvements.

  • Serve as a coach and mentor to the team to build and implement robust compliance / governance processes, audit skills and hazard recognition.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, and/or Certified Environmental or Health and Safety professional, or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated achievements with Governance safety programs, digitized systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time

  • Currently residing within the region

  • Ability to work at height per local and global standards

Desired Characteristics

  • Fluent English with strong communication skills (verbal and written), additional languages preferred

  • Relevant EHS experience in compliance assurance and/or digitized tool management

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal

  • Able to coach and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance and the reduction of risk through team engagement and help develop an organizational culture that prioritizes EHS.

  • Knowledge of EHS management systems, GE EHS programs and policies.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities

  • Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and or presentations to a diverse audience

  • High energy, self-starter and demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders.

  • Have domain expertise in one or more of the following: Electrical Safety and LOTO requirements, crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, confined space

The salary range for this position is $113,000 - $188,400 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 15%.
