In this role, you will lead Gas Power Sourcing in the development & execution of our capacity growth strategy. You will work in collaboration with the Sourcing Commodity Leaders to identify the gaps between our existing critical supplier capacity and the forecasted demand profile for 2027+, and then to build a strategy and detailed plan to remediate those gaps. This plan may include, but is not limited to, development of new suppliers, capacity and/or capability expansion of existing suppliers, technical collaboration to improve yield/output, and internal design changes to enable any of the above. You will be responsible to lead a cross-functional team in the execution of the capacity ramp plan over the next 24-36 months, ultimately culminating in a demonstrated increase in supplier output in 2025, 2026 & 2027. You will work closely with the Gas Power Sourcing Leader, as well as the Gas Power Sourcing CFO, to define the resources necessary to execute the strategy, including GE Vernova personnel, contracted services, OPEX, and CAPEX requirements. Success in this role will require you to partner with the Sourcing staff leadership, as well as your cross-function peers, to determine the most effective approach towards aligning the incremental resources focused on supplier capacity growth. It is expected that a portion of the resources will report directly to the Supplier Capacity Leader, while some number will be embedded within other functional teams.

Success in this role will require you to build strong relationships with critical external suppliers and key internal stakeholders, leading a cross-functional effort that should include Sourcing, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Pivot-to-Value.

This role reports directly to the Global Gas Power Sourcing Leader.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will have shared responsibility to develop the supplier capacity growth strategy (alongside the Sourcing Commodity Leaders), and direct responsibility for leading the execution of that strategy.

  • Partner with the supplier commodity teams to develop a capacity growth strategy & execution plan for the top 30-40 suppliers most critical to meet HDNU and Services forecasted volume in 2027+.

  • Define the resource requirements necessary to support the growth strategy, including GE Vernova personnel, contracted services, OPEX, and CAPEX requirements.

  • Mobilize a team of dedicated resources to drive the execution of the strategy; including new supplier development & qualification, existing supplier capacity expansion, supplier technical collaboration, and engineering design changes to enable increased supplier output.

  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain Demand Management, HDNU Projects, Services and Commercial/ITO teams in the long-term capacity planning of Gas Turbine, Generator, Steam Turbine, Spares & MSD/BOP material.

  • Implement continuous improvement activities to ensure sustainment of supplier capacity increases (lean, standard work, daily management, problem solving, waste elimination).

  • Drive 100% compliance to sourcing policy / procedures, supplier approval, competitive bidding, and delegation of authority approvals.

  • Ensure supplier adherence to GE Vernova cyber security requirements to protect GE Vernova IP and overall business continuity.

  • Partner with the Gas Power Supplier Quality team to drive adherence & continuous improvement in the areas of QMS compliance, supplier defects/process capability, SDR reduction, and COPQ.

  • Prepare and present executive presentations to business leadership teams to influence outcomes on current and future sourcing capacity imperatives.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering , or a Business related field from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sourcing, Manufacturing, and/or Supply Chain.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)

  • Prior sourcing experience in contract negotiation negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers and implementing contracts

  • Cross-functional experience in Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing

  • Product & process knowledge in critical commodities of the Gas Turbine, Generator or Steam Turbine (Investment Castings, Forgings, Combustion, Post-Cast Machining, Rotor Machining)

  • Prior experience in developing a multi-year strategies

  • Prior experience leading people

  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills

  • Strong project management and process improvement skills

  • Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Process leadership experience such as CAP, Work­Out, process improvement, or quality CPM or APICS certification

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $145,000-$193,300 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% annual bonus structure.
