GE Vernova Treasury Technical Accounting Analyst in Noida, India

Job Description Summary

This individual will be responsible for providing technical accounting advice arising out of treasury matters like external liabilities, derivatives, hedging, foreign currency matters & financial instruments. In addition, the individual will provide technical accounting oversight for SEC reporting for GE Vernova. The individual will report directly to the Treasury Technical Senior Manager.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical expert for treasury matters such as external liabilities, derivatives, hedging, foreign currency (including monthly CTA analytics and recs) & financial instruments.

  • Review and assist in the preparation of performance guarantees, indemnifications and similar instruments disclosure (collectively, “PCG”) under ASC 460 and ASC 450, including establishment of internal controls and process framework. Specifically, the candidate will assist in:

  • Confirming active PCG population and validation through ALOC/ Commercial Smartsheet Tracker

  • Reviewing quarterly RPO Disclosure Values collected by Controllership/Commercial teams and represented in the ALOC/Commercial Smartsheet Tracker

  • Assisting in quarterly business representation letters procedures

  • Reviewing disclosure methodology applied by Treasury via an Alteryx workflow (including monitoring of novation/assignments/transfers and contract expirations) to ultimate produce quarterly and annual SEC reporting information related to PCG

  • Reviewing and preparing support to calculate quarterly fee GEV will pay to GEA pursuant to separate SDA through Alteryx workflow, related to outstanding PCG.

  • Capturing and analyzing quarterly updates in Projects RPO, Stage of Work and key Operational dates for non-novated contracts and non-transferred PCGs.

  • Running analysis and preparing data back-up files for SteerCo meetings with GE Aerospace and preparing data for Monthly bowlers to publish progress on Commercial Separation activities.

  • Data mining and refining information and developing databases/dashboards to support Project Spear (GE Vernova’s Legal Entity Rationalization project).

  • Review and assist in the preparation of documentation and SEC filing support required for derivatives, debt, equity and other special transactions such as foreign currency matters and PCG.

  • Responsible for the review and assisting in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including PCG, cash flows, equity statement, footnotes and subsidiary financial statements and other internal reporting deliverables.

  • Maintain a comprehensive pipeline of projects eligible for hedge accounting across tier 2, and work with business controllership and FP&A teams to actively qualify and expand hedge accounting coverage.

  • Assist in review hedge documentation, evaluate contracts for embedded derivatives, evaluate complex transactions such classification and measurement of financial instruments, determine functional currencies of foreign operations and help evaluate cumulative translation adjustments (CTA) generated in the Company’s foreign operations.

  • Assist in the effort to ensure that the Company is compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), applicable laws and regulations, including applicable regulatory guidance.

  • Review Treasury controllership GEV GAP -policies and procedures in conjunction with senior level managers to ensure the integrity of the financial results.

  • Assist in review of annual financial statements and quarterly reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant derivatives accounting, treasury controllership & FX experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s Degree, CPA/ CA is preferred

  • Strong financial services experience, and/or treasury experience

  • Strong understanding and prior practical experience in FX including CTA analysis

  • Strong understanding of derivative instruments

  • Significant technical experience with ASC 815, ASC 830 and ASC 460/ASC 450

  • Strong technical research skills with proven ability to manage complex research projects and document conclusions in technical memos

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience/proficiency using Alteryx Software for data automation & analytics

  • Experience/proficiency using financial systems and Microsoft Office (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Experience/ability to work cross functionally, written/oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Excellent teamwork skills; collaborative approach with peers and team members

  • Experience working in a global and dynamic team environment
