GE Vernova Commercial Leader - Onshore Wind (m/f/d) in Remote, Germany
Job Description Summary
In this role you lead deal teams to develop optimized offers which position GE to win contracts for the supply of wind turbine units and services with focus on Central Europe.
The Commercial Leader will own the preparation of the commercial proposal, review and amend contract documents, put forward GE Venova’s contractual positions and negotiate to a successful contract award, whilst working in accordance with GE Vernova's Commercial policies and processes.
The Commercial Leader operates with the highest standards of integrity and compliance and works closely with key stakeholders, including the Technical Leader, Sales Leader and extended functions such as Risk, Legal, Commercial Finance, Tax, and Project Management.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Support the Commercial team, as a Commercial Leader for Onshore Wind, reporting to the Regional Commercial Director;
Support the achievement of Team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with particular focus on orders, cash collection and margin;
Deliver the commercial strategy and lead the overall proposal development. Build, prepare and negotiate commercial offers;
Negotiate and amend contracts with customers autonomously with a full understanding on the companies preferred risk status on each commercial item;
Prepare project cost calculations and perform value optimization on deals;
Present the deal risk profile of the offer to the business and obtain the necessary approvals to bid;
Present the offer to the customer; take responsibility for drafting and negotiating the commercial and technical terms;
Ensure that deal deadlines are met and managing cross functional teams during the bidding process to ensure customer expectations are met;
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business studies or mechanical enginering or equivalent, from an accredited college or university
Experienced in negotiating complex contracts demonstrated via prior position(s) such as in Contract Management, Sales, Project Management or Customer Service
Experience in wind energ industry or alternatively experience in energy projects (including bidding/negotiation)
Contemporary leadership skills including dealing with virtual project teams
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and integrative team working style
Business acumen and problem solving mindset
Willingness to travel and work intensively, e.g. during negotiation periods
Fluent in German in speaking and writing
Desired Characteristics
Enthusiasm for technology and wind power
Experience in the field of negotiating high value contracts would be a strong advantage
Knowledge of wind turbine technology and project execution
Experience in tendering, sales or alternatively in a role with strong customer interaction
Strategic thinker, customer-oriented
Fluency in additional languages
