Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join the Gilboa PSPP - Pumped Storage Power Plant, near Kibbutz Reshafim.

Lead Electrical Engineer will be leading electrical maintenance team and supporting all electrical maintenance ongoing activity at the power plant, this position shall take place in scheduling, coordinating and performing of planned activities, according to GE O&M contractual requirements and the plant operational commercial obligations.

Job Description

Tasks & Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this position are:

  • Responsible for Implementation of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical systems equipment at the PSPP - Pumped Storage Power Plant, where GE – Renewable Energy, Hydro, O&M - Operation and Maintenance contract.

  • Leading the Electrical maintenance team technicians.

  • Responsible for proactively ensuring that Electrical maintenance activities are implemented with compliant and meet the Gilboa PSPP - Pumped Storage Power Plant, GE technical information obliged.

Additional function-specific tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Report to the Maintenance Manager.

  • Maintain contact with work related partners such as a maintenance engineer and other positions with collaboration with the Electrical maintenance etc.

General Tasks & Responsibilities

The general tasks and responsibilities for this position are:

  • Lead the Electrical maintenance team technicians for all maintenance activities to maintain and achieve an optimal availability and reliability rate of the power plant.

  • Ensure all Electrical maintenance activities are identified and carried out in compliance with GE Maintenance strategy approved by the maintenance manager.

  • Review the routine maintenance planning and execution of relevant Electrical maintenance activities.

  • Ensure proper report resumed of each task and activity.

  • During routine, planned or unplanned outages, arrange and organize suitable service providers to implement the tasks in accordance to the technical instructions and procedures at the power plant.

  • Support the field service engineers during outage and planned inspection to ensure safe and effective coordination and cooperation between the parties.

  • Implement risk assessment analysis and suggest improving actions to achieve safe environment for the workers.

  • Review the spare parts availability to keep the required stock levels and update accordingly.

  • Comply with the rest of the maintenance sections, operations and as well as HSE requirements relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities.

  • Train Assist and guide in determining the relevant for the Electrical maintenance team members and its subsequent implementation at the power plant.

  • Ensure availability of appropriate tools and equipment at site for Electrical works implementation, and to be carried out as per as good engineering practices.

  • Participate share and exchange experienced events with colleagues at work.

Performance Indicators

  • Electrical equipment metrics, e.g. availability and reliability.

  • Maintenance strategy and comply with GE company policy.

  • Yearly budget and Cost consciousness, achieving Electrical maintenance costs targets.

  • Outage duration management within the time schedule limitation.

Authorization

  • Approvals and actions in accordance with the work instructions and maintenance procedures specifically agreed and authorized in the CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management System.

  • Full authorization to the CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management System.

  • Lead of Electrical equipment plan by means, planning of Predictive and preventive maintenance and handle destructive / breakdown maintenance.

  • To adapt maintenance procedures to site specifics in cooperation with the Maintenance Manager.

  • Request for support on technical issues from the maintenance technical support.

Education, Training, Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering MSc / BSc degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a Power plant.

  • Knowledge of typical legislation associated with Power Plant operation and maintenance.

Experience and Work-Related Skills

  • Five years experience in commissioning, operation and maintenance of Power Plant or equivalent facilities.

  • Familiar with work request submission to IEC, daily basis communication with IEC for planned / unplanned electrical activities implementation.

  • Familiar with KKS tag number - equipment / Identification system.

  • Capable to broad understanding of diagrams and schematics, wiring diagram, C&ID, P&ID, KKS code, etc

  • Capable to troubleshoot and propose improvement solutions.

  • Experience with emergency backup systems e.g. DG – Diesel Generator.

  • Experience with DC, UPS backup systems.

  • Experience with LOTO applications on LV, MV, HV electrical systems, 0.4, 15.75, 22 and 161KV

  • Turbo Generator / Motor type HV (15.75 KV) and related equipment as the following below:

  • Slip ring.

  • Shaft insulation.

  • PD - Partial discharge.

  • Voltage transformer.

  • Current transformer.

  • Generator Synchroscope.

  • IPB – Insulated Phase Bar

  • COS Ⴔ, Active power, inactive power

  • Disturbance recorder.

  • Experience with HV transformers, HV & MV sub stations

  • Step Up /Down main transformers HV 15.75 / 161KV

  • Auxiliary transformers wet / dry.

  • DGA – Dissolve gas analyser.

  • Protection relays / devices related Voltage, Current frequency.

  • High voltage generator and related auxiliary systems.

  • Excitation system.

  • AVR – Automatic Voltage Regulator.

  • GCB – Generator circuit breaker.

  • SFC – Static Frequency Converter.

  • LV, MV, HV switchgears.

  • International experience – An advantage.

  • Firefighting systems – An advantage.

  • Good understanding of contract guarantees metrics, e.g. plant generating units availability, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Good understanding of PTW – Permit To Work system.

  • Cost consciousness, achieving site costs targets.

  • Failure analysis and investigation.

  • Good knowledge/ Familiarity of the general control system.

  • Systems functional description.

  • Understanding of the commercial processes.

  • The jobholder is not anxious in confine spaces - claustrophobic.

  • The jobholder shall be medically fit to undertake the full duties of the mentioned above.
