GE Vernova Generator Repair Sourcing Specialist in Richmond, Virginia

Job Description Summary

This position will lead the generator repair sourcing purchasing scope for the Richmond Service Center. Will be involved in daily procurement activities with a focus on SQDC as outlined below.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure ComplyWorks certification for all on site contractors and on board all key generator rewind vendors into GTCC/SourceGate.

  • Quality : Develop process for NCRs to drive RCA with SQEs, reduce NCR volume by 20%, and recover 70% COPQ. Qualification data alignment to reduce risk of PO leakage to non-qualified vendors and work with SQE to qualify new vendors/part numbers.

  • Delivery : Work with shop to build a material pull process (ie: forecast, safety stock, ROP, VMI, advance PO). Reduce lead time and improve material availability on critical components. Work with key vendors on the capacity vs. demand plan to reduce the fulfillment risk and improve overall supplier OTD by 10%.

  • Cost/Cash : Work with SQE to initiate and qualify alternative sources for key generator components. Optimize project savings (ie: process, system, definition dashboard) to achieve overall 5% savings target. Achieve average payment terms of 122 days across suppliers.

  • Lean : Value steam map key components with supplier and define the opportunity for improvement. Work with shop project and material team on material planning process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED / Equivalent with 3 years of professional experience in Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing

  • At least 3 years of experience in similar job function (Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • This position is 100% onsite at the GE Richmond Service Center

Desired Characteristics

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • ERP system experience

  • Experience working with internal / external customers and suppliers

  • Experience in managing projects

  • Working knowledge of generators and other similar industrial equipment

Pay Transparency:

The pay for this position is $30.67- $40.96/hour. This posting is expected to close on June 12, 2024, or thereafter.
