Job Description Summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

We are looking for an engineer to provide technical expertise to support our Industrial Rotating Stabiliser Systems with in-depth trouble-shooting, creation of technical reports, expert advice, and technical aspects of upgrades. Part of the role will be to identify opportunities to improve the reliability of the Rotating Stabiliser systems to reduce down time. You will support our installed base of systems, both in the UK and around the world, both in the office and on site if and when necessary.

Job Description

In this role you will work within the technical support team, liaising with customers and field service engineers to resolve customers’ issues. Resolutions of problems may involve modifications to software and hardware, which you will identify and/or implement. You will carry out analysis of diagnostic files, and you will collaborate with your team members and the engineering/development teams to resolve complex issues. It will be necessary for you to work at customer sites from time to time.

  • When not resolving on site issues, you will be asked to look for opportunities to improve the reliability and stability of the RS systems.

  • You will also work with our sales teams to advise on the technical aspects of our bids for upgrades or new systems.

  • You will help to drive improvements in products, processes and procedures.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with, typically, a degree in engineering from an accredited university, with experience of working with industrial control systems, such as design, installation or maintenance. General experience of programming PLCs and HMIs is required, along with knowledge/experience of variable-frequency drives, rotating machines, switchgear and cooling/oil systems.
