Job Description Summary

The Pricing Leader will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of pricing strategies for a complex product and services portfolio that maximizes price, operating margin, and market share.

Works with sales, marketing, engineering, and product management to evaluate product pricing and margin. Reviews publicly-available competitor information, customer feedback, and market trends to inform specific recommendations. Compiles reports and analysis that helps position products in specific bids or regions.

Focus areas: Building strategies and recommendations for pricing options in new product offerings including options such as innovative off-ramps, carry-over credits, and other models that benefit both GEH and customer. Work closely with product development to create long-term service revenue models and assure pricing protects from inflation and other risks in order to protect enduring cash flows. Work as part of team to explore variety of business models and contractual structures that put GEH in a winning position in global market.

The Leader drives consistency, efficiency and pricing accountability through the use of Salesforce.com tools to ensure functional excellence and Sales optimization including conducting analysis based on customer, market, and competitor knowledge that leads to recommendations and action regarding pricing, cash collection, and outcome selling. This leader will also collaborate with Product Management and Product Marketing to develop differentiated pricing models specific to how our customers value our offerings and partner with the Commercial team to measure pricing impacts and dynamically adjust pricing models based upon feedback from the market.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of a broader set of business economics, market intelligence and analytical techniques to drive enablement of innovative strategic pricing approaches utilizing various pricing processes and systems and depth and breadth of pricing science understanding.

  • Provide high impact analysis and modeling to support price differentiation, value-based selling and analysis to support pricing strategy for commercial deals which maximize price, margin and/or market share.

  • Reviews market trends, customer insights and profitability analytics to ensure reasonableness of findings and proactively seeks cross-functional input to develop pricing strategies. Understands and can anticipate the implications/impact of market conditions, field response, and competitive response in support of pricing strategies.

  • Clearly and concisely articulates sustained pricing strategies. Develop recommendations on price target revisions, maintain a database of targets quarterly or as required in an inflationary and volatile economy. Also reviews and synthesizes analysis into succinct recommendation for senior management and sales organization.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance of existing price lists and product portfolios in Salesforce. Facilitate the pricing escalation process. Challenge conventional thinking and historical deal theory and strategy.

  • Partner with product value streams to support introduction of new products and promotions into quoting/pricing tools. Extensive interaction with other parts of the organization on deal modeling/management and effective management of driving maximum profit on opportunities. Utilizes perspectives of all audiences of pricing (finance, sales, product management, marketing, customer)

  • May lead teams or projects; shares expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • 7 years of experience in Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance or Pricing

  • 3 years of experience developing and analyzing spreadsheets and financial models

Eligibility Requirements

  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time (up to 25% if working remote)

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA from an accredited university or college

  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) certification.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Sales Force (SFDC) and Configure Price Quote (CPQ) pricing processes and systems.

  • Strong Finance, Accounting, Commercial skills; detail oriented

  • Works effectively with multiple levels

  • Uses Lean concepts including VSM, Process Mapping, Problem Solving, Action plans.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Ability to reach to a decision with a less than perfect fact base, relying on pragmatism combined with logical reasoning.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead and influence cross functionally toward execution of strategic initiatives and projects.

  • Strong business and financial acumen.

The base pay range for this position is $128,000 – 190,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday June 28th

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
